Holidays: Cote d'Azur

This has been a gorgeous summer, and we continued enjoying fantastic weather, sans heat wave, while taking holidays on the French Riviera mid August. The French are incredible hosts, and we had a beautiful time everywhere we went to: from our hub in Villefranche-Sur-Mer with the best beaches on the coast, to Eze Village with its medieval narrow streets, a castle and Fragonard museum, to Antibes with spectacular emerald sea and a great Picasso museum, and of course Monaco: a perfect, fairy-tale kingdom. Even touristy Nice and glitzy Cannes, although much more crowded and commercial, were still fun to visit for a couple of hours. In Villefranche-Sur-Mer we stayed in a charming, cozy family run hotel La Fiancee du Pirate, with amazing, long leisurely breakfasts, nice pool and breathtaking views. If you happen to visit Villefranche, do book a table at La Belle Etoile (superb food at decent price) and enjoy a cocktail or two at Welcome Hotel. Have a great last week of summer !
